Mauritius removed from UK list of High-Risk countries

5th Nov 2021

According to a communique released by the FSC, subsequent to the delisting of Mauritius by FATF, the United Kingdom (UK), by way of the amendments, removed Mauritius as a high risk country for the purposes of enhanced due diligence requirements.

This development followed Mauritius' removal from the FATF list of nations subject to heightened scrutiny in October 2021. It also emphasizes the country's ongoing efforts to combat money laundering, terrorist financing, and proliferation finance. The British government's decision boosts confidence and trust in the financial services sector, as well as in Mauritius as an international financial center.
